Open Source
is a way of generating a feeling for a product so that nothing is hidden.
This is the same for the SecureW2 EAP Suite, the source code is available
via Subversion through the following link:
https://svn.securew2.com/SecureW2_NG
Open Source products also require a community in order to function. The
community is made up of users, system administrators and programmers who
share their knowledge and generally discuss the different aspects of the
product. More importantly this community is free. Everyone can
participate, ask their questions and help build the community.
Please visit the online SecureW2
forum and see for yourself.
Or register for the SecureW2 user mailing list at:
http://www.securew2.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/securew2-user.
The SecureW2 Client is licensed under GPL, which
is a license that protects programmers who wish to share their knowledge
by donating their product and its code to the open source community.
Basically the GPL license states that if someone wishes to use the code
or product within a product of their own, this product must also be shared
with the open source community under the same GPL license.
For more information on GPL, see:
GNU General Public License - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Non GPL licensing of the SecureW2 client is also
possible. For more information please see the products
section.
